It’s finally time for another blog post. One about my trip. My amazing trip to the beautiful Thailand!
And believe me, it was amazing. I’ve met so much inspiring and kind people. I’ve seen and lived in a culture so different from mine. And every moment was worth it. We did great things; like a trip to the jungle and a cave tour. Thailand was a dream come true. I felt like I could outbeat the world; I felt so amazingly strong. I hope that one day I’ll be able to go back. To enjoy the land that gave me so much joy. I’m short in time now; but I’ll write a blog about what I experienced (food, people) later!
As you may have read in my last post, change, I visited Rome for the first time!
Was it a succes? Yes.
Did I eat rt4? Mostly not. (Rt3)
Have I seen some of the most amazing architecture? All the time.
Do I want to go again? Yes!
Unfortunately Rome is quite expensive, so I won’t have the money to go any day soon.. But that doesn’t matter.
I fed my mind with enough beautiful art to endure for a while.
This is a picture of the beautiful St. Pieters, it was really special because we got to go on a service. In the most famous cathedral of the world.. Still can’t believe it.
This was in the middle of the city; could you imagine; waiting on the bus, looking to an old ancient Roman building. These pilars where everywhere.
And that’s me with my handsome friends. Dream on Jaz. I never had the time to talk to them. A shame, they all smiled really cute.
Now a very important part; the food.
Let me tell you one thing; I knew pasta could be good, but I never knew it was that good until I had it in Rome. I ate pasta all the time. It was vegan, filled me up, but most importantly; delicious! !
I also ate a lot of bruschetta, high in oil but a really nice lunch. (And something else then pasta all te time)
Rome was really cool. I liked the people, the heat, the food. Only the public transport was a bit of a mess.. Thank God I found an app for that.
Oh lord, where would we be without the Internet?
I still recommend Rome to everyone; it’s a nice, clean and wonderful city to visit!
Time for another blog! Not a happy one this time, ’cause it’s about my last hospitalization. I went there for my IBD. It wasn’t long; I’m back already. But it was hard.
Not only the pain, but also the food. Food is an important factor in my health. If I eat proper and clean I have less pain and I recover in less time.
People with IBD often eat glutenfree and fatfree. So you would say they keep notice of that in the hospital.
Well, think again. I asked them for a vegan meal and that was were they made their first mistake.
Vegan? So you don’t eat meat then? It says here that you can have anything, so would you like the spaghetti with tuna or the patatoes with salmon?
I didn’t even know what to say.
Eventually I got my voice back and I said that I didn’t eat meat, fish or dairy because of my illness. (Thats not the only reason but I doubt that she’ll got it so I tought this was okay)
That she understood. I asked for some veggies, fruit and plain rice.
Within 20 minutes she was back with a small plate of rice and veggies and – Hallelujah- 6 banana’s.
Being a vegan in a hospital. It sure ain’t easy, but I managed.
I hope that next time I find someone who understand me, and the importance of clean food to a healing body.
I wanted to write something about one of my favorite things in the world: BEANS! And peas too, haha. I Just LOVE beans. I doens’t matter which one. You can make endless variations with beans. And they are healthy. I made this bean salad (see top image) to bring with me to school, and eveyone got jealous. They were all like: “Woaah you’re eating so healthy, it looks so good! I wish I could do that!”
People often say things like that. I find it hard to understand, if you want to be healthy and fit, it’s up to you to actually do that. No-one can do that for you, you need to make the decision to stop eating crap and start eating healthy. So when people say that, I often start laughing, and tell them that this is a normal snack for me. That I like to take good care of myself, and that it isn’t hard.
But for some people it is. They make excuses not to eat good.
But please, stop the excuses and start the realization.
Start to take of yourself. Start to eat fruit. Stop the fat.
YOU can do this, if you love yourself, I wouldn’t be a problem.
Just give your body love, and it will love you back.
i”m so excited, it was my birthday yesterday! I didn’t follow RT4 that strictly my parents and boyfriend suprised me with a delicious breakfast (my mum did buy glutenfree bread, so she did think about me) and I ate a lot of small things during the day. But I had a great birthday, filled with love. Me and my boyfriend ate in a place called “Boergondisch”and they made everything themself, even the bread and chutney.
Remember, I’m not a vegan yet..
